Bill Bonner Video
July 2022: One of our customers, Bill Bonner bought a system from us. He had some challenges installing it himself, but we replaced a bad computer, and guided him through a few things to make it perfect! Imagine my surprise when he sent me this well produced video showing his bike and the system. We are glad you have had success with the system and appreciate the video! Thanks!

This past weekend my wife and I spent three days touring in West Virginia. There were three solo bikes plus the two of us on our Goldwing. We were the fourth in line, falling a bit behind the riders on the more sport oriented machinery in the technical parts and catching up on the straights. Yes, there were times that they waited for us at intersections because there weren't a lot of straight parts on our route! Still, my Goldwing continues to identify as a sport touring bike!

I did notice a slight reduction in the usable lean angle. (It's West Virginia, and we rode some of tightest paved roads in the state!) I increased the pre-load on the pneumatic shocks by 5 more pounds and, while not exactly hanging off with the Goldwing's seat, I did shift my weight and body around more vigorously! I think that the wheel would engage on a hard lean, so it was more of a reminder to back off the throttle and shift my weight than a tipover threat. Good design!
This was the big test for the LandinGear, and it passed with flying colors! I have spent some time using it solo and on a few shorter two-up rides. So I had a decent idea of when to deploy, and when not to. Bottom line: because of your product I was noticeably less fatigued during the later parts of the ride and at the end of the day.
So thanks for a great product, and here's some photos for your gallery!

Pete,
Thank you very much for overnighting the part that I needed to NY to help make my trip a success. Being 5’3” and weighing in at my fighting weight of 125, I need all the help that I can get to toss this 950 pound beast around. My buddy Tom and I did 1760 miles in 6 days before returning to Pa. I could not and would not do it with out the landingear.
I’m 68 and not ready for a trike. Once again, thank you Pete.

Ps, I’ll bet I demonstrated how it worked to a dozen people during the trip. They are always fascinated buy how fast it deploys.

The landing gear is getting a lot of promotion in australia. Here is an article that was all over the press plus a podcast. John Liras did the installation and testing and has made numerous corrections to the original instructions. He did a fantastic job and the landing gear works really well.
Thanks
Richard

Billy Blades here. I just got back from a 2000 mile ride from Pa. to Tennessee to N. Carolina to Georgia and back home.
Road on the blue ridge parkway through part of the Smokey Mts.
I must have demonstrated the leg up to more than a dozen people. Everyone was fascinated by it. One fellow told me that he wished he would have known about before he sold his Goldwing.
Anyway it worked great, no issues.
So again, thank you.

Paul DeJong

Paul Dejong owns this beautiful 2010 Electra Glide Ultra Classic. Unfortunately, Paul is no longer able to ride. He is offering it for sale to our customers for $14K or best offer. It is obviously well cared for and has only 10K miles on the clock.
Here is a chance to get a great bike with LegUp installed at a great price. If you have any interest, please contact us ands I will put you in touch with Paul. Let's see if we can help this customer out. Thanks!

If you are Vertically challenged (Not Short) like me at 5’3”, Leg Up Landing Gear is a fantastic option.
I didn’t want to buy a trike, that to me takes away the joy of cornering. The system works great and they stand behind there product 100%. Had a slight problem with the landing gear not fully retracting. A phone call to Pete is all it took to fix the problem.
Thanks Pete

My Legup kit finally made it here yesterday and I got it installed which went very nicely. It is going to take some getting use to but does work nice. I was in a serous bike accident 4 years ago and my back was broke as well as a number of other injuries so controlling the bike a slow speeds has been an issue for me ever since I got back riding. I don't like the way a trike handles at highway speeds so this will enable me to continue riding for a bit longer.
Thanks alot

Pete,
Feel free to use this in total or use any part for your marketing…
Leg-up is the perfect compromise between a standard two-wheeled motorcycle and a trike – the rider experiences a full-adrenalin two wheel ride with the ability to have the confidence and stability of a trike. My goal was to make the bike stable enough for my wife to safely mount and dismount with confidence and Leg-up does that so well it made her more willing to join me on rides. An added benefit is that I can now also easily navigate tight gas stations and parking lots with ease. It took a very short time to understand the operation and limitations of the Leg-up system. I use full-manual to consciously control when the wheels go up and down and I do not recommend doing very tight wheels-down turns in gas stations and parking lot with a passenger – the almost always uneven and angled surfaces could cause balancing problems.
I give customer service TWENTY stars out of ten… Pete is AMAZING. Phone calls are answered on the spot and emails usually within an hour or two. Pete knows his stuff, spends as much time as necessary on the phone to answer all questions and fix any problem. The first day I bent one of the brackets and shipped the wheel back for repair. Pete, repaired the bracket at no charge and shipped it back the same day he received it… two days later it was back on the bike ready to go. In my opinion THAT is the gold standard of Customer Service.

Installed the landing gear this weekend and took them out for a test spin Sunday afternoon. No issues, easy install. I do notice it is possible to catch one of those wheels leaning into a 90 degree turn but it didn’t seem to cause much of a problem. At long lights and parking lots they are just what I was looking for but don’t like the feeling of riding off them from a stop. Better for me to make sure the bike is in gear, raise them manually and take off normally.
Great Product, Thanks!

Hi Pete,
I have been riding for 52+ years. After being hit by cars twice and having a incurable cancer, I am not as strong as I used to be. I thought I would have to give up two wheels and get a trike. Not an appealing idea. Your system allows me to stay on two wheels and ride the way I enjoy.
I installed your system 2 weeks ago and it is GREAT. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. I was a mechanic for over 50 years. The installation was easy. I think anyone with a reasonable amount of mechanical ability could do it. All of the parts are well designed and top quality and should last for years.

Hello Pete,
Thank you for shipping the foot board kit right out. No worries of forgetting to inform your folk's. We all brain cramp at times. I got my system all installed on Thursday 17th. I put together a video and loaded it on you tube. Here is the link and hopefully it will be useful to you and your company. Great doing business with you and God bless you beyond measure.

Perry Bankester

Below is part of a Facebook Post From Perry Bankester of Pensacola, FL.
The bike is a 1997 GL1500SE with Landing Gear. I bought her new in '97 and this was the first ride with the retractable training wheels which was the compromise my wife agreed to instead of getting a trike. She likes the decision....
I wanted the retractable gear instead of a trike so I could still enjoy leaning into the curves and doing what I call poetry in motion.... About 20 years ago I saw a crude set of hydraulic training wheels on a Goldwing... and enjoyed talking to the WWII Bomber Vet who designed and built that set after he and his bike got run over by a tractor-trailer truck totalling the bike and leaving him without enough strength to hold the bike up and he wasn't about to quit riding. I found out talking to Pete Giarusso who designed and sells the Landing Gear I bought that he had also seen and talked to the same guy that same year and that is what gave him the inspiration to build the compressed air operated gear that I now have. I made a personal goal back 20 years ago to live long enough that I too needed retractable training wheel on my motorcycle. Well, I got there sooner than expected due to my wife's concerns.
I installed mine myself as the instruction manual is very well written and it is sort of like Pete is looking over your shoulder telling you what to do and with good drawings and pictures.

Hello Pete,
Installed the legup landingear a little over a year ago. Love the landingear on my 2000 Heritage softail Classic. Easy to install with the instructions. Use it mainly when my wife gets on and of the bike. Also when having to make a sharp U-turn. Always having to do a demonstration when someone sees it. Thanks gain for making it possible to keep riding my bike. Take care. Marv Erker

Hi Pete and Co-workers
Just a quick note to express how well your system works, I had a competitors system on my bike until discovering your Leg Up system. The difference is night and day. I'm sure you hear this often, but right from initial contact I felt looked after, the installation was simple and worked immediately. I will wave your flag from up here in Ontario, Canada.
Thanks

Hi Pete,
I received the new retrofit mounts and they look awesome. I followed the easy installation instructions that you included and was able to remove the old Harley Davidson passenger foot board mounts and install your new mounts in about an hour. They fit perfectly and are certainty stronger than the HD original mount. Thanks for making a great product even better with the stronger mounts. I love my Leg Up system.
Thanks

Hi Pete,
I have successfully installed the 'Leg Up' and apart from a few teething problems, the sensor on the rear wheel, I am delighted with the way it works. I'm using the system manually until I am more confident! I am a HOG member of the Fenlanders chapter, aprox. 300 members;
35 of us rode in a carnival last Sunday. All riders were most interested in the Leg Up and at least 4 said what a great idea I must get them. So I hope you have some customers... Keep making them!
Best Regards,

Pete,
My name is Allen Rubenacker I own a 2001 heritage springer softail and I am so glad I found your video online... You were extremely helpful by telling me what I may run into during the installation and with your input and reading the installation notes that are quite clear and seeing the photos that came with the legs up system it was surprisingly simple to install. ....Your system is so clean I went to our local Harley dealers open house and parked within about 8-10 other bikes and not one person even noticed that my bike was sitting on four wheels.
Thanks again for making a system that can keep me riding!

Hi Pete,
Thanks for your help in steering me in the right direction. The system is a very straight forward install with great instructions. The only difficult part is running the wires and 99% of that problem is called Honda. (little humor) It would be much easier to just remove the top of the shelter. The bike has been standing straight up since yesterday, so I don't think we have any air leaks.
We are really looking forward to an early spring here in Michigan. The wife is even more excited to start riding again.
Again, thanks for your help and for building a quality product.

Hi Pete,
I meant to follow up with you sooner, but this is better because I have had a chance to ride with the landing gear and get comfortable with it. The hardest part for me is starting off with the gear down.
I am much more comfortable controlling that part manually. I am very pleased overall so far and really am appreciative of all the phone support you provided during installation.
Thanks again,

Pete,
Wanted to thank you and Ben for the great “Landing Gear” and the adaptation to the F6B. It has made my life a lot easier when doing tight maneuvers with this bike. Also great for moving it around in the garage. I am enclosing 2 pics. with the Landing Gear extended. The F6B is a fantastic ride but is still heavy. I believe the Landing Gear has extended my 2 wheel riding for quite a while. After sale service was and is truly outstanding.
Thanks again,
Chuck
